Deaner's Tour Diary

barricades all up around the stage which meant no stage dancers thanks god. i got fuckin torn up before this show from booze and pills and we played a long strung out set with a lot of long jams. captain, fluffy, reggaejunkiejew, voodoo lady, et al. this is a strange town---we haven't been there enough for me to understand the place but they treated us very well. i thought all 3 gigs were good to start the tour but we need a day off badly. all 3 shows have been sold out too, really not what we expected in these smaller cities. our bus is a piece of crap, we are playing these big ass shows yet we are travelling in a rolling sardine can with no air conditioning or tv. the whole band is trying to drink itself to sleep every night in the 90 degree bunks but we keep staying awake playing poker all night to avoid the horror of the sleepless sweaty coffin bunks. everyone is talking about setting the bus on fire, and only in a half-kidding sorta way.
