Deaner's Tour Diary

Perth Wednesday 3/05/08
Sitting on an airplane right now for the third day in a row flying from perth to Melbourne, where we play the next 3 nights and wrap up our Australian tour. The Adelaide show was awesome, even though my equipment was literally falling apart on what felt like every song. It was claude's birthday and we ended the show with a 20 minute jam that started as "never squeal on th' pusher" and ended with everyone in the band playing someone else's instruments. We had to do it in style for the kid, james Wilson sr on his birthday. I didn't think that any gig could be browner than our Adelaide show, but somehow we managed to completely outdo ourselves last night in perth. The club was small, and like the Adelaide show it was about a million degrees on the stage. Again, my equipment was breaking down on every song. If it wasn't one of my pedals it was the amplifier, if it wasn't the amplifier then it was a broken string. I think I broke all 6 strings over the course of the gig. Anyway, it didn't really matter, the show was like the equivalent of a 3 hour version of "poopship destroyer" and we had a blast. The Australian Ween fans come to rock and we have been giving it to them every night. Overall I would have to rank this as one of my favorite ween tours ever. Australian women are so beautiful and there are so many of them. I find myself falling in love like 50 times a day. We have a much needed day off today before the stretch run. I'm gonna go out looking for a good dinner tonight, I have to buy a new book too 'cuz I left mine in the hotel last night - pisses me off royally.
