Deaner's Tour Diary

it was a beautiful theater, maybe the nicest converted movie theater we've ever played, which is a lot of movie theaters. i thought this show was pretty awesome. actually, we played "lmlyp" to close again for the 2nd night in a row and i thought we'd never play this song once on tour let alone twice in 2 nights. having said that, this gig pretty much wore me out for having douchebags crawling all over the fucking stage. the show was pretty much marred by some stupid college boy jumping onstage during "roses are free" and pissing the crowd off so much that people started to throw shit at him. some genius decided to throw a seagram's 7 bottle and it smashed on the front of my monitor. now i'm all for having a good time but once someone throws a bottle in my direction as hard as they can it becomes impossible to concentrate and play a gig relaxed. if it hits you in the head, you're a dead man, if you say something to the crowd you sound like a pussy, and then the tone is set for the night. we all play barefoot too. i thought we played well but it's not about this stupid performance art piece where you buy a ticket and tell your friends later "hey did you see me up there?" we can take some of the blame, you can't have it both ways----it's either we tell security that there's no one allowed onstage or people have to be cool about it. we are on tour to play fucking music, not to put on some asshole dog and pony show.
